Section 17. The village commission shall appoint a village treasurer and a village solicitor each of whom shall hold office at the pleasure of the commission.
The village treasurer shall be the custodian of all monies of the village, and shall keep the same and preserve the same in such manner and in such place or places as shall be determined by the commission. The village treasurer shall pay out money only on warrants issued hy the village clerk.
The village solicitor shall prepare all contracts, bonds and other instruments in writing in which the village is concerned and shall serve as legal counsel and attorney to the village, its directors and officers.
In addition to the duties set forth above, the village treasurer and the village solicitor shall perform such other duties as may be required of them by the commission as well as such may be required of them by the general laws of the state applicable to villages and not inconsistent with this Charter or with any ordinance or resolution that may be passed by the commission.
