This zoning chapter is adopted for the purpose of promoting the public health, safety, comfort, prosperity and general welfare; to conserve and protect property and property values; to secure the most appropriate use of land and buildings; to regulate the area dimensions of land, yards and open spaces so as to secure adequate light, air and safety from fire and other dangers; to preserve and protect the character and value of the existing residential, business, industrial, and institutional areas of the village; to provide for a method of administration and prescribe penalties for violation of provisions hereafter described, all as authorized by R.C. Chapter 713 and the Charter of the village.
