361.20 PARKING BENEATH FIRE ESCAPE OR NEAR EMERGENCY EXIT.
   No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, except emergency vehicles, on that portion of any street, alley, thoroughfare, parking lot or other areaway, either public or private, that is situated beneath any fire escape, stairway, ladder or similar device intended for use as a fire escape, or park on that portion of any street, alley, thoroughfare, parking lot or other areaway, either public or private, that is situated within fifteen feet of the exterior perimeter of any fire exit, stairway, passageway, common corridor or other avenue of emergency egress, implied or expressly designated, from any hospital, school, theater, hotel, auditorium, apartment house or other building or institution where people work, congregate or assemble for any purpose. In order to preserve the intent and purpose of this section, the Police Department shall post suitable, adequate, conspicuous and permanent signs, restricting parking in any of those locations heretofore referred to.
