(a) Major Duties. The major duties of the City Engineer/Building Inspector shall be to prepare work programs; review completed work and work plans; coordinate work of various divisions with each other and with other departments, agencies and outside organizations, by studying materials, conferring with others and directing actions to be taken; review specifications and bids with the City Treasurer and City Attorney; supervise work in progress; inspect new and existing buildings for compliance with City regulations, as well as structural soundness; and perform related work as required.
(b) Minor Duties. The minor duties of the City Engineer/Building Inspector shall be to advise the Mayor, City Treasurer and Council members on various and all aspects of the engineering and public works program; attend meetings; supervise writing of reports and maintenance of records; and supervise preparation of department budget.(Ord. 1538.
