1737.02 WORK BY HOMEOWNERS; PERMITS; BUSINESS LICENSES.
   (a)   A homeowner shall be permitted to perform new plumbing work at his residence upon fulfilling the following requirements: the acquisition of any required plumbing permit; the submission of detailed construction plans in a form and content as required by the BOCA Basic National Plumbing Code and acceptable to the Plumbing Inspector; and the execution of an affidavit by which the homeowner attests that he has completed one plumbing job of equal magnitude. A homeowner meeting these requirements shall not be required to acquire a City contractor's, business, or plumber's contractor's license. A homeowner shall be permitted to perform replacement and/or repair work to existing plumbing at his residence without meeting the requirements of this subsection.
   (b)   An individual or a corporation in the regular business of performing plumbing work, for remuneration, is required to submit detailed construction plans in a form and content as required by the BOCA Basic National Plumbing Code and acceptable to the Plumbing Inspector, to acquire any required plumbing permit, and to acquire any required plumbing or contractor's license, before performing any plumbing work.
   (c)   An individual or corporation who is required by subsection (b) hereof to acquire a plumbing contractor's license, shall be entitled to such license upon furnishing adequate proof to the Plumbing Inspector that he (it) holds a currently valid plumber's license from the City of Charleston, City of St. Albans or another city acceptable to the Plumbing Inspector, and that he (it) holds a currently valid plumbing contractor's license from the State
   (d)   The fee for the annual license to act as a plumbing contractor shall be the same as the fee set by the West Virginia Contractor's Licensing Board, to be applied as specified in Section 733.29. (Ord 1850. Passed 8-18-94.)
