(a) Adopted. The publication "Standards for Gas Piping and Appliance Venting on Customers' Premises" is hereby adopted as the official Gas Piping and Venting Code for the City. The "Standards for Gas Piping and Appliance Venting on Customers' Premises" is hereby incorporated herein by reference and made a part hereof. The provisions of this section shall be controlling one mile beyond the limits of the City.
(b) Amendment Procedure. Proposed amendments to the Columbia Gas Company Piping and Venting Standards, by the Columbia Gas Company, on and after the effective date of this section, shall be submitted to the City Attorney by the Building Inspector, with any comments the Building Inspector may deem appropriate, within thirty days of receipt by the Building Inspector of such proposed amendments. Thereafter the City Attorney shall, within sixty days, prepare an ordinance incorporating such proposed amendments, with such changes or modifications as may appear necessary or desirable, and shall submit such ordinance to Council for consideration. The Building Inspector shall provide the Mayor, the City Attorney and each Council member with photocopies of all such proposed amendments as soon as they are received, noting on such copies the date of receipt.
