1713.07 MISCELLANEOUS WORK PERMIT DUTIES.
   (a)   It shall be the duty of the applicant to repair and restore to its original condition any break or opening made necessary by the granting of a miscellaneous permit, using the same material, or better, as was used in the original installation, to be replaced in a workmanlike manner, complete in each detail and as approved by the City Engineer, within ten working days after the start of the cut, if the cuts are made in the roadways, and within thirty working days after the start of the cut at all other places. The City Engineer, may, in his discretion and in extenuating circumstances, grant an extension of the above time limits. The applicant shall notify the City Engineer and the Police and Fire Departments twenty-four hours prior to the start of cutting and rebuilding of any street, curb or sidewalk. In cases of emergency, as determined by the City Engineer or his deputy, the requirement for twenty-four hours' is waived; however, the Police Department and Fire Department shall be notified in any event before commencing work.
   (b)   It shall be the further duty of each applicant to provide and place barricades marking each cut in a street, sidewalk and curb. The cut shall show the name of the applicant or, in the case of a utility, the name of the utility. The City Engineer shall be notified at least twenty- four hours before any concrete is placed in such cut.
