(a) Exceptions to Height Limits. The height limitations of this Zoning Ordinance shall not apply:
(1) To churches, schools, hospitals or sanitariums and other public and semipublic buildings in R-2, R-4, R-6 and R-8 Residential Districts and in the C-2 Commercial District. Any such buildings may be erected to a height not exceeding seventy-five feet or six stories; provided, that the front side and rear yards required for the highest building permitted in the district in which any such building is to located are increased an additional foot, in depth or width, for each foot by which the height of such building exceeds the maximum height permitted in such district.
(2) To church spires, belfries, cupolas and domes not for human occupancy, monuments, water towers, observations towers, transmission towers, windmills, chimneys, smokestacks, derricks, conveyors, flagpoles, radio towers, masts and aerials.
(3) To a parapet wall extending not more than four feet above the limiting height of the building on which it rests.
(4) To bulkheads, elevator penthouses, water tanks, monitors and scenery lofts; provided, that such a structure shall not have an aggregate area greater than twenty-five percent (25%) of the lot area; and provided, that no linear dimension of any such structure shall be greater than one-half of the length of the corresponding street lot line if the structure is within twenty-five feet of such lot line.
(5) To monuments or towers, including fire towers, hose towers, cooling towers, grain elevators, sugar refineries or gasholders or other structures, where the manufacturing process requires a greater height than that provided; provided, that all such structures above the limiting heights specified in this ordinance shall not occupy more than twenty-five percent (25%) of the area of the lot, shall be distant not less than twenty-five feet from every lot line not a street lot line and not less than one foot from the opposite side of each abutting street for each two feet of vertical height.
(b) Exceptions to Area Limits. A single-family dwelling may be constructed on any lot existing and of record at the time of the enactment of this ordinance; provided, that the yard and other requirements prescribed in this ordinance are complied with.
(c) Visual Obstructions on Corner Lots. On any corner lot, no wall, fence or other structure shall be erected or altered and no hedge, tree, shrub or other growth shall be maintained which may cause danger to traffic on a street by obscuring the view.

(d) Swimming Pool Fencing. A private swimming pool shall have its pool area enclosed by a fence or wall at least six feet high with entrances and exits which can be locked while the pool is not in use.
