§ 114.08  TERMINATION AND INOPERATION.
When a permit shall have been issued, or extended as hereinafter provided, the same shall terminate and become inoperative without any action on the part of the City Council, unless within 60 days from the date issued or date the extension is granted, actual drilling of the well shall have commenced or an extension has been allowed by the additional deposit of a $500 permit fee tendered to the city prior to the expiration of the 60 days from date of extension or date of issue, without any changes by the permittee in the original permit filed. The cessation for a like period of drilling or reworking operations, or the cessation for a like period of production of oil or gas from the well after production shall have commenced without reworking operations being conducted thereon, shall operate to terminate and cancel the permit and the well shall be considered as abandoned for all purposes of this chapter, and it shall be unlawful thereafter to further operate or drill the well without the issuance of another permit. No additional permit shall be required in order to complete any well for which a permit has been issued hereunder and has not been canceled or terminated or the well abandoned.
