Purchase orders notations regarding transportation charges generally fall into these categories:
A. F.O.B. Somerton. When the purchase order is marked in this manner, no transportation charges are to be paid by the city. This is the preferred way to have freight shipped in order to have the vendor "at risk" during shipment.
B. F.O.B. Freight allowed. In these cases the city will pay the freight bill and deduct the amount from the invoice.
