§ 230.10 GENERAL PROVISIONS.
   (a)   Whenever a vacancy occurs in the position of a department director or chief officer of any city department, the Mayor shall have the authority to appoint an interim director to that position within 30 days, and for a period of not more than 90 days, until a permanent director is appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council.
   (b)   An interim appointment shall not be a bar to a permanent appointment subject to the same advice and consent of the Council for all department directors, or other chief officers of any city departments.
   (c)   An interim appointment to a vacant department director position shall not result in an increase in compensation unless specifically authorized by the Mayor.
   (d)   For any and all other administrative matters as noted or required by these Codified Ordinances, the Mayor may appoint a designee to fulfill any duties and responsibilities in furtherance of the intents of this section.
