§ 1650.02 PUBLIC FIRE HYDRANTS.
   (a)   This section is intended to ensure an adequate water supply and facilities for firefighting purposes.
   (b)   An adequate water supply for firefighting purposes shall be available for all buildings, structures and portions thereof. Such water supply shall be provided from city water or private water supply mains.
   (c)   All buildings and structures shall be so located that no portion thereof is more than 300 feet from at least one readily accessible public or private fire department hydrant. Such distance shall be measured along streets, roadways or driveways and shall be in accordance with § 1650.03. Hydrants located around buildings shall be spaced so as not to be more than 300 feet apart.
   (d)   All dwellings, houses or other minor buildings or structures shall be located so that no portion thereof is more than 300 feet from a readily accessible public or private fire hydrant. Such distance shall be measured along streets, roadways or driveways and shall be in accordance with § 1650.03.

   (e)   Alternatively, dwellings, houses or other minor buildings or structures on lots in excess of the minimum lot requirements for the zoning district in which they are located may be located more than 300 feet from a readily accessible public or private fire hydrant if an alternative standpipe or fire suppression system is installed throughout the structure and/or the structure is provided with a roadway or driveway capable of supporting the weight of a 25-ton truck without side or overhead obstructions and is approved by the Fire Chief.
