§ 1042.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   (a)   BUILDING SEWER. That part of the sewer system which connects the plumbing of the house or building to a public sewer.
   (b)   CITY. The City of Solon, Ohio.
   (c)   CITY ENGINEER. Means and designates the City Engineer of Solon, Ohio.
   (d)   DOMESTIC SEWAGE or SANITARY SEWAGE. Sewage derived principally from dwellings, business buildings, industries, institutions and the like, originating as wastes from kitchens, water closets, lavatories, bathrooms, showers and laundries.
   (e)   FOUNDATION DRAINS. Subsurface drains laid around the foundation of a building, either within or outside of the building foundation, for the purpose of carrying ground or subsurface water to some point of disposal.
   (f)   INDUSTRIAL WASTE. The liquid wastes from industrial or commercial processes, as distinct from domestic sewage.
   (g)   SANITARY SEWER. A pipe or conduit designed for the purpose of carrying domestic sewage or industrial waste from the point of origin to a sewage treatment or disposal works or to a place of disposal, and which is not intended to carry storm, surface, cooling, ground or subsurface waters.
   (h)   SEWAGE. A combination of water-carried wastes from residences, business buildings, institutions and industrial establishments, together with such ground, surface and stormwaters which may be present.
   (i)   SEWAGE WORKS. All of the facilities for collection, pumping, treating and disposing of sanitary sewers.
   (j)   STORM SEWER or STORM DRAIN. A sewer which carries storm, surface, cooling and drainage water, but which excludes domestic and industrial sewage.
