§ 4-3-1 LICENSE REQUIRED; EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   License required. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, transient merchant, hawker, solicitor, or peddler to vend, sell, dispose, or offer to vend, sell, dispose, or display any goods, wares, merchandise, produce, or vegetables on any public walk, street, alley, or at any residence, or anywhere within the town without first obtaining a license from the Town Clerk-Treasurer for that purpose and having paid a license fee therefor, as provided in this chapter.
   (B)   Exceptions. This section shall not apply to religious, political, civic, charitable, or nonprofit organizations or individuals, or to businesses operating from leased or owned premises such as a restaurant, bar, retail clothing business, parts store, gas station, and the like.
