13.04.050: METER; COMMERCIAL:
Every commercial building or commercial business within the corporate limits of the city shall be furnished water by the city, upon request of the owners, renters, or lessees of the commercial buildings or of the businesses, by the use of a water meter installed in accordance with the provisions of this chapter and at the rate as defined in the schedule attached as exhibit A to the ordinance codified herein and water will not be furnished by the city to any commercial buildings or businesses except by and through the use of a water meter as specified in this section; where the business or commercial buildings need or use water for irrigation purposes, then irrigation water shall be provided by the city on the basis of a payment schedule, attached as exhibit A to the ordinance codified herein, the purpose of this chapter being to require the city to furnish water to commercial buildings and businesses by and through the use of a water meter for any and all purposes of which a commercial business or building would use water, save and except water used only for irrigation purposes in order to grow plants or plant life. This section is not exclusive of the right of resident owners to make application in accordance with the provisions of section 13.04.010 of this chapter for a water meter to be placed on residential dwellings for domestic use and the provisions of this section shall not in any way limit or restrict the right of a residential owner in making application for a meter to be installed at the owner's residence or dwelling within the corporate limits of the city.
