§ 50.121 HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE PIPE (HDPE).
   (A)   Corrugated high density polyethylene shall be in accordance with AASHTO M294 Type S. Pipe manufactured under this specification shall have a minimum cell class of 324420C in accordance with ASTM D3350. The flexibility factor of HPDE pipe shall not exceed 0.095. Pipe shall have a minimum pipe stiffness of 46 psi.
   (B)   High density polyethylene pipe shall possess male and female pipe ends which allow the construction of overlapping, gasketed pipe joints, in conformance with the requirements of ASTM D3212. The gasket material shall conform to all requirements of ASTM F477.
   (C)   Manufactured fittings, such as wyes, tees, elbows or adapters, will not be accepted for use in place of precast storm sewer manholes, inlets or catch basins.
   (D)   High density polyethylene pipe possessing the following defects may be rejected for installation: variations from straight centerline; elliptical shape in round pipe; illegible markings as required herein; deep or excessive gouges or scratches on the pipe wall; fractures, punctures, or cracks passing through the pipe wall; damaged or cracked ends where such damage would prevent making a satisfactory joint.
   (E)   For high density polyethylene pipe products, each length of pipe shall be clearly marked with the following information as a minimum: manufacturer’s name or identification symbol; nominal pipe size; and product/extrusion code.
