§ 36.20 BILLING; RESPONSIBLE PARTY; PAYMENT.
   (A)   The city’s Fire Department shall bill the responsible party, if the responsibility can be determined or all parties associated with the cause of the incident, for the above charges using a form created by the Fire Department.
   (B)   A resident of the city that pays property taxes to the city and maintains residency as evidenced by having his or her address as such on his or her state driver’s license shall not receive a bill from the city’s Fire Department. His or her tax dollars have paid for any service they receive from the city’s Fire Department unless such service is due to a criminal act perpetrated by the resident.
   (C)   The responsible party shall remit payment to the city’s Fire Department Mitigation Fund within 30 days of the date the billing statement was issued. Failure to pay the city’s Fire Department for its services within 30 days shall result in 10% penalty monthly not to exceed 60% and interest at the rate of 1% per month.
