The person giving notice shall utilize suitable safety devices and practices, and place and maintain barriers and warning devices necessary for safety of the general public. Barriers, warning signs, and lights shall conform to all of the requirements of the State Department of Highways, along with other federal, state and local laws and regulations, as a minimum standard, but greater precautions shall be taken where reasonably necessary. The Director of Public Works/City Engineer may require the use of flagmen, cones, alternate route signs, and other traffic-control measures at the expense of the person giving notice.
