§ 41.002 PLANS FOR NEW STREETS, ETC. TO BE APPROVED
   (A)   Plans and specifications for all streets, curbs, storm sewers and drainage areas in any new development, including, but not limited to residential and commercial subdivisions and planned unit developments shall be submitted to the Director of Public Works/City Engineer for review and approval prior to commencement of construction. Plans and specifications shall meet the standards of existing ordinances and shall be indicated by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer on the approved plat required to be recorded in the Shelby County Clerk’s office. In the event a plat is not required to be recorded, the developer or property owner shall secure written approval of the Director of Public Works/City Engineer prior to commencement of construction.
   (B)   The construction of new streets, curbs, storm sewers and through drainage areas in any residential or commercial subdivision or planned unit development or other development shall be supervised and inspected by a representative of the city on a regular basis and the cost of said construction supervision and inspection shall be borne by the developer or property owner who shall pay the city for the construction, supervision and inspection at the contract rate on file with the City Clerk.
