The Shelby fire department and the sheriff's office must be notified of the intent to initiate burning twenty four (24) hours prior to the actual burning. The issuance of a permit does not relieve the permittee from this notification requirement unless the permit is issued within twenty four (24) hours prior to the burn and the Shelby fire department and the sheriff's office has been duly notified at that time.
