A. Boundaries: The boundaries of the wards of the city of Shelby, Montana, shall be changed, and the city be divided into three (3) wards, which shall be numbered as ward 1, ward 2 and ward 3, respectively.
1. Dividing line between ward 1 and ward 3:
Beginning at a point where the centerline of Fifth Avenue North intersects the centerline of Main Street; thence south along the centerline of Fifth Avenue South to the centerline intersection of Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South; thence west along the centerline of Third Street South to the centerline intersection of the Third Street South and Sixth Avenue South; thence south along the centerline of Sixth Avenue South to the centerline intersection of Sixth Avenue South and Fifth Street South; thence west along the centerline of Fifth Street South to the centerline intersection of Fifth Street South and Cedar Avenue; thence south along the centerline of Cedar Avenue to the centerline intersection of Cedar Avenue and Eighth Street South; thence west along the centerline of Eighth Street South to the intersection of the centerline of Eighth Street South and Ninth Avenue South; thence south along the centerline of Ninth Avenue South to the intersection of Ninth Avenue South and Tenth Street South; thence in a southwesterly direction following the current city limits (see exhibit A attached to ordinance 764) until it intersects with Thirteenth Street South; thence in a westerly direction along the current city limits to the intersection of Thirteenth Street South and Marias Valley Road.
2. Dividing line between ward 1 and ward 2:
Beginning at a point where the centerline of Fifth Avenue North intersects the centerline of Main Street; thence in a southeasterly direction along the centerline of Main Street to the centerline intersection of Main Street and Coyote Pass (viaduct); thence northeasterly along the centerline of Coyote Pass to the centerline intersection of Coyote Pass and Marias Avenue; thence southeasterly along the centerline of Marias Avenue to the centerline intersection of Marias Valley and Division Street; thence northeasterly along the centerline of Division Street to the centerline intersection of Oilfield Avenue; thence in the same northeasterly direction to the intersection of Hill Street and Blaine Avenue; thence east along the centerline of Blaine Avenue to the centerline intersection of Glacier Street; thence northeasterly along the centerline of City Shop Road to the centerline intersection of City Shop Road and Benjamin Road.
3. Dividing line between ward 2 and ward 3:
Beginning at point where the centerline of Fifth Avenue North intersects with the centerline of Main Street; thence west along the centerline of Main Street to the centerline intersection of Main Street and Seventh Avenue North; thence north along the centerline of Seventh Avenue North to the centerline intersection of Seventh Avenue North and First Street North; thence west along the centerline of First Street North to the centerline intersection of First Street North and Ninth Avenue North; thence north along the centerline of Ninth Avenue North to the centerline intersection of Ninth Avenue North and Second Street North; thence west along the centerline of Second Street North to the centerline intersection of Second Street North and Tenth Avenue North; thence north along the centerline of Tenth Avenue North to the centerline intersection of Tenth Avenue North and Third Street North; thence west along the centerline of Third Street North to the centerline intersection of Third Street North and Eleventh Avenue North; thence north along the centerline of Eleventh Avenue North to the south side of the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railway right of way line, which is one hundred feet (100') from and parallel to the centerline of the main track of the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railway, then northwesterly along this right of way line to the current city limits at the northwest corner of Valley View Cemetery.
B. Wards Designated:
1. Ward 1: All of that part of the city lying south and east of the above described boundary line between wards 1 and 2 and south and east of the above described boundary line between wards 1 and 3 shall constitute and be designated as ward 1 of the city.
2. Ward 2: All of that part of the city lying north of the above described boundary line between wards 1 and 2 and north of the above described boundary line between wards 2 and 3 shall constitute and be designated as ward 2 of the city.
3. Ward 3: All of that part of the city lying south and west of the above described boundary line between wards 2 and 3 and west and north of the above described boundary line between wards 1 and 3 shall constitute and be designated as ward 3 of the city. (Ord. 764, 3-3-2003)
