(a) The property owner or his or her designated representative shall notify the office of the Superintendent of Wastewater Treatment and Sewers two days, excluding Saturday, Sunday or legal holidays, in advance of the expected date for making the connection into the public sanitary sewer. Both the sewer lateral connection and the house sewer lateral pipe shall be left exposed for the inspection and approval of the Superintendent of Wastewater Treatment and Sewers or his or her authorized representative. Upon approval, the Superintendent of Wastewater Treatment and Sewers or his or her authorized representative will authorize the placing of backfill over the connection and pipe, at which time the house sewer lateral may be used for its intended purpose.
(b) No sewer work in a street right-of-way shall be started until the Police, Fire and Street Departments have been notified of the street closing.
