§ 260.27 TRAINING AND EDUCATION.
   (a)   Any employee covered by this chapter who desires to attend job-related training course or schools may submit a request to attend such course or school to the Mayor not less than two weeks prior to the commencement of the course or school. Attendance at the course or school shall be at the sole discretion of the Mayor.
   (b)   The city will compensate the employee for approved expenses incurred pursuant to division (a) hereof under the following terms:
      (1)   If the employee successfully completes the course or school attended by obtaining a passing grade of 75% or better, and obtains the license or certificate for which the school or course was given.
      (2)   The employee who successfully completes a course or school will agree to remain with the city for a period of not less than one year from the date of completion. Failure to do so shall result in the expenses of such course or school being deducted from any and all of the employee's severance pay, to the extent of the compensation set forth in division (a) hereof.
