§ 260.12 LONGEVITY COMPENSATION.
   (a)   Effective January 1, 2004, longevity compensation will be paid to all city employees covered by this chapter with five years or more of continuous service with the city, at the rate set forth in division (b) below for each full and consecutive year of service, based upon each employee's date of hire, up to a maximum of 30 years, or $1,500. Longevity shall be payable the first payday in December of each year.
   (b)   Longevity compensation is as follows:
      (1)   Five to 11 years of service, $40 for each year;
      (2)   Twelve to 18 years of service, $45 for each year; and
      (3)   Nineteen to 30 years of service, $50 for each year.
   (c)   Any employee covered by this chapter currently employed as of January 1, 2004, with less than five years of service shall continue to receive longevity at the rate of $3 per month for each full and consecutive year of service, until reaching five years of service, at which time the employee shall be covered by the longevity schedule set forth in division (b) of this section.
