(a) The Director of Finance and Public Record, after duly recording each ordinance and resolution of a general and permanent nature passed by Council, shall forthwith present the ordinance or resolution to the Director of Law, who shall assign to the ordinance or resolution the proper section number of the Codified Ordinances of the city.
(b) The Director of Law, upon receiving an ordinance or resolution from the Director of Finance and Public Record, shall, within five days thereafter, assign to the ordinance or resolution, and each section thereof, a Codified Ordinances number and return the same to the Director of Finance and Public Record.
(c) After the assignment of section numbers of the Codified Ordinances, as provided in divisions (a) and (b) hereof, the ordinance or resolution, and sections thereof, shall be known and referred to as such section of the Codified Ordinances of the city.
