141.10 CIVIL SERVICE CREDIT FOR PRIOR FIRE DEPARTMENT EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATION.
(a) Council hereby authorizes and approves the grant of additional credit for initial applicants to the Sharonville Fire Department in order to benefit current Fire Department members who can provide valuable consistency to the Sharonville Fire Department. The additional credit, in addition to the mandatory prior military service credit, shall be as follows:
(1) | Non-probationary member of Sharonville Fire Department | 10% |
Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science at a four year institution | 10% | |
(2) | Paramedic Certification | 5% |
State of Ohio Certified Firefighter II with 240 hours of training | 5% | |
Associates Degree in Fire Science from a two year program | 5% | |
(3) | State of Ohio Certified Firefighter I with 120 hours of training | 3% |
State of Ohio Certified EMT-B Emergency Medical Technician-Basic | 3% |
(b) The maximum additional credit pursuant to this Ordinance shall be twenty percent. The application and addition of the additional credit shall be administered and calculated in the same manner as Ohio Military Service Credit.
