557.03 APPOINTMENT OF THE AIR POLLUTION HEARING BOARD.
Before the first day of the month following the effective date of this section (Ord. 69-47, passed December 9,1969) and each year thereafter, the Mayor shall appoint one member to a Selection Committee made up of one representative of each municipality that adopts a similar ordinance and contracts with the City of Cincinnati for air pollution control services. Within sixty days the Selection Committee so constituted shall meet and appoint the membership to the Air Pollution Hearing Board as provided for in Section 557.02 of this chapter. The Selection Committee shall elect its own chairman from among its members and shall establish its own rules of procedure. This section shall become effective when not less than three municipalities of the Intercommunity Air Pollution Control Program adopt a similar ordinance for appointment of an Air Pollution Hearing Board.
Should an Intercommunity Air Pollution Hearing Board already have been constituted, the Mayor is hereby authorized to appoint the members of the Intercommunity Air Pollution Hearing Board for an initial period to coincide with the appointments of a Selection Committee established by similar ordinances in other municipalities. After the initial period, appointments of the Air Pollution Hearing Board shall be made as provided for in the above paragraph of this section. (Ord. 69-47. Passed 12-9-69.)
