525.06 FAILURE TO AID A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
(a) No person shall negligently fail or refuse to aid a law enforcement officer, when called upon for assistance in preventing or halting the commission of an offense, or in apprehending or detaining an offender, when such aid can be given without a substantial risk of physical harm to the person giving it.

(b) No person, being a motel/hotel clerk or other employee having access to room registration information, shall refuse or fail to provide a law enforcement officer, called to the motel/hotel by such clerk, employee or other employee of the motel/hotel, for the purpose of investigating a potential disturbance or other criminal activity in a rented guest room of the motel/hotel, with any or all of the following information, if available in the records maintained regularly by the motel/hotel: the full name of the individual registering; the names of any other persons in the party with registrant, if known; the identifying information on the registrant’s drivers license, military identification or such other identifying material, if known; and a description of any vehicle and license number being driven by the registered person, if known. Nothing in this section shall be interpreted as requiring a motel/hotel in the City to obtain any additional information than that which it obtains pursuant to the normal business practice of such motel/hotel.
(c) Whoever violates subsection (a) or (b) hereof is guilty of failure to aid a law enforcement officer, a minor misdemeanor. (Ord. 91-49. Passed 5-28-91.)
