§ 35.04  MEMBERSHIP.
   (A)   The membership of the Town of Shallotte Fire Department shall consist of the Fire Chief and such persons as are duly elected to membership from among the able-bodied citizens of the town and vicinity of the town in accordance with the By-laws of the Department.  Preferably, members shall be property owners whose business activities are normally in the confines of the town and who have telephones in their homes.  Candidates for membership shall first satisfy a medical and physical examination as prescribed by the Chief and approved by the Board of Aldermen.
   (B)   Any member of the Department may be suspended or discharged from the Department by the Chief for just cause at any time he may deem such action necessary for the good of the Department.  On written request of such member to the Board of Aldermen, he shall have a hearing on the charges brought by the Chief.
