§ 93.008  FIRE INSPECTION SCHEDULE.
   (A)   In order to preserve and protect public health and safety, and to satisfy the requirements of G.S. § 160A-424, with respect to political subdivisions assuming inspection duties, as set out in G.S. § 160A-411, and to satisfy the requirements of the State Building Code, the following inspection schedule shall apply to all buildings within the town except those buildings within the town except those buildings listed under § 106, “Inspection Schedules” in the North Carolina State Building Code: Fire Prevention Code 2009 edition. In no case may inspections be conducted less than frequent than described in the schedule below:
 
Once every year
Hazardous, Institutional, High-rise, Assembly, except those noted below, and Residential except one- and two-family dwelling units of multi-family occupancies.
Once every two years
Industrial and Educational (except public school)
Once every three years
Assembly occupancies with an occupant load less than 100, Businesses, Mercantile, Storage, Churches, Synagogues and miscellaneous Group U occupancies
 
   (B)   Frequency rates for inspections of occupancies as mandated by the North Carolina General Statutes shall supersede this schedule. Nothing in this schedule is intended to prevent more frequent inspections as needed to preserve and to protect public health and safety.
