§ 93.006  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
   The Fire Code Official shall conform to qualification requirements under G.S. § 160A-411.1. The duties and responsibilities therein shall be to enforce within the town and the extra-territorial jurisdiction state and local laws relating to G.S. § 160A-412 to include:
   (A)   The construction of buildings and other structures enforced by North Carolina Fire Prevention Code.
   (B)   The installation of fire protection systems of such as fire alarm and detection, automatic sprinklers, alternative automatic fire extinguishing, standpipes, portable fire extinguishers, emergency alarms, smoke control, Fire Department connections, fire pumps, and fire protection based on specific detailed requirements of use and occupancy.
   (C)   The maintenance of buildings and other structures in safe conditions.
   (D)   Receive applications and supporting data for permits.
   (E)   Issue or deny permits.
   (F)   Make all necessary inspections to ensure code compliance.
   (G)   Identify technical provisions found to be inconsistent with the inspection.
   (H)   Issue or deny certificates of compliance and certificates of occupancy.
   (I)   Issue stop work orders or orders to correct violations.
   (J)   Maintain adequate records or permits issued or denied, inspections made, corrections ordered and certificates issued.
   (K)   Take other actions that may be required to adequately enforce the code.
   (L)   Other similar matters that may be specified by the Town Council.
