§ 51.14  LEAKS; RESPONSIBILITY OF CUSTOMER.
   (A)   If a break occurs, or a defect is found in any pipe or fixture, causing or permitting a leakage or waste of water, it shall be the duty of the owner of the premises or the customer to have the break or defect repaired and to pay for any water use that occurred during the period of damage.
(1979 Code, § 5-1014)
   (B)   Adjustments to water and or sewer bills resulting from leaks or damaged equipment may be made to the customer’s sewer account, provided that repair invoices or other sufficient written evidence is provided and upon approval of the Town Administrator.  Account adjustments over $2,000 shall be approved by the Board of Aldermen in its discretion. If approved, adjustments will be based on the billing history for the account.  If billing history is not available, then the town will hold adjustment consideration until at least three-months’ history is available.
   (C)   Pool fills.  Adjustments to the sewer account for swimming pool fills or refills will be made on a once-per-year basis.
