311.05 RABIES.
(a) Any person owning or having the possession or charge of any animal known to have or suspected of having rabies, or any animal subject to rabies and known to have bitten a human being, shall immediately surrender the animal to the City's Animal Warden or the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.
(b) Any person having knowledge of the existence of any animal having rabies, which has not been surrendered, shall, within six (6) hours after the discovery thereof, report the same to the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.
(c) Any animal surrendered or taken up by the City's Animal Warden or the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, as required in this section, shall be quarantined for a period not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) days, at the expiration of which period such animal shall be removed by the owner from the place of quarantine if such animal shall be declared by such official to be free from rabies.
