141.15 ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS.
(a) The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to accept gifts donated to the City other than real estate, to be used for municipal purposes, the estimated value of which does not exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000). Gifts to the City exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000) in estimated value may be accepted by the Director upon the approval of Council.
(b) The Director is hereby authorized and directed to establish and maintain such separate accounts as may be necessary for the acceptance and use of gifts to the City.
(c) The Director shall report in writing to Council, on an annual basis, or at any time upon the request of Council, as to gifts made to the City, the estimated value of which does not exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
(d) Nothing herein shall require the Director to accept any gift, of whatever kind or value, offered to the City. (Ord. 94-84. Enacted 5-23-94.)
