701.99 PENALTIES FOR MISDEMEANORS.
   (a)   Except as otherwise specifically provided, whoever is convicted of or pleads guilty to a violation of any provision of this Part Seven - General Offenses Code is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree and shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or imprisoned not more than six (6) months or both. Each day of a continuing violation shall be considered a separate offense.

   (b)   Regardless of the penalties provided in subsection (a) hereof, an organization convicted of an offense shall be fined not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000).
   This subsection (b) does not prevent the imposition of available civil sanctions against an organization convicted of an offense pursuant to Section 701.11, either in addition to or in lieu of a fine imposed pursuant to this subsection (b).
