(a) Part-time Certified City Inspectors shall be appointed by the Mayor for a period of one year, subject to confirmation of Council, for the purpose of conducting plumbing, heating, electrical and building inspections, and shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. The part-time Certified City Inspectors shall receive forty-five dollars ($45.00) per residential inspections and fifty-five dollars ($55.00) per non-residential inspection.. The part-time Certified City plumbing, heating, electrical and building inspectors shall obtain, at his or her own expense, an automobile insurance policy containing a liability insurance provision with limited coverage of not less than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) and three hundred thousand dollars ($300,00) and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) property damage insurance, the City to be co-insured by endorsement in such policy together with the Certified part-time City Inspectors.
(b) The part-time Certified City Inspectors shall be responsible for the inspection of residential and nonresidential plumbing, electrical, heating, building and appurtenances, including the construction thereof, the inspection of sidewalks and other improvements in the right of way, and such other residential and nonresidential inspections as directed by the Building Commissioner. The part-time Certified City Inspectors shall report the results of all inspections to the Commissioner. (Ord. 08-2024. Passed 2-13-24.)
