(a) Establishment. There is hereby established the position of Building Manager/Pool Technician, which is a part time hourly position reporting directly to the Recreation and Parks Director and Assistant Recreation and Parks Director. The hours and days will be flexible and will change from time to time. Early morning, late evening, holidays and split shifts will be required.
(b) General Statement of Duties of the Building Manager/ Pool Technician. The building manager is a supervisory position responsible for general monitoring of all mechanical aspects of the Center and the general cleanliness and sanitizing of the facility.
(c) Requirements for the Building Manager/ Pool Technician.
(1) Extensive experience in care and maintenance of building mechanical operations.
(2) Experience in staff management.
(3) Background in custodial care, preferably of a public building.
(4) Expertise in Swimming Pool Operations. MUST have background with pool filtration, pump operation, water chemistry and swimming pool maintenance.
(5) Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and / or Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) certifications
(6) Willing to work varied hours, including holidays, evenings and weekends and be on call at times.
(7) Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
(8) Knowledge in a combination of the following a plus: plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling general repairs.
(9) CPR/AED certification
(10) Requires the exercise and use of independent judgment not merely of a routine or clerical nature
(d) Duties of the Building Manager/ Pool Technician.
(1) Develop, implement and log a preventative maintenance program for all mechanical aspects of the Recreation Center.
(2) Develop, implement and log procedures for daily cleaning and general care of the facility.
(3) Monitor and repair all mechanical systems.
(4) Conduct emergency repairs as needed.
(5) Conduct daily cleaning and sanitation of facility.
(6) Perform pool filtration maintenance, backwash as needed.
(7) Serve as liaison to Service Department on all of the facility's major structural and mechanical problems.
(8) Work with Aquatics Director to monitor and maintain pool and spa filtration and automatic chemical feed systems.
(9) Work with Assistant Recreation and Parks Director to assist with preventative maintenance and repair of fitness equipment.
(10) Assist in set up and tear down of facilities for special events.
(11) With assistance from Recreation and Parks Director, hire, supervise, schedule, train and evaluate, reward and/or discipline part time staff for housekeeping and maintenance.
(12) Ensure proper sanitation of areas, especially locker rooms and restrooms.
(13) Coordinate set up, tear down and cleaning of activity areas with other management staff.
(14) Assist in supervision of building and all employees.
(15) Inventory and order supplies and equipment.
(16) Accept and sign off on deliveries.
(17) Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation and Parks Director or Assistant Recreation and Parks Director.
(e) Hourly Rate for the Building Manager/ Pool Technician.
$15.00 - $30.00 / hour
