148.061 HEAD LIFEGUARD.
   (a)   Establishment. There is hereby established the position of Head Lifeguard. The Head Lifeguard is part-time position responsible for assisting the Aquatics Supervisor in
City of Seven Hills supervising the aquatic staff. The Head Lifeguard will have supervisory responsibilities when the Aquatics Supervisor is not in the facility and is also elected as responsible for staff per shift.
   (b)   Responsibilities of the Head Lifeguard.
      (1)    Must demonstrate exceptional management skills
      (2)    Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard & First Aid Training, CPR-PR, AED Essentials and American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor. WSI preferred, but not required.
      (3)    Maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures including blood borne pathogens
      (4)    Requires the exercise and use of independent judgment not merely of a routine or clerical nature.
      (5)    Must represent the Seven Hills Recreation Department by properly handling comments and concerns in the absence of the Aquatics Supervisor.
   (c)   Responsibilities of the Head Lifeguard in Addition to Responsibilities as a Lifeguard.
      (1)    Ensure safety of both lifeguard staff and patrons by correcting hazards and handling problem situations.
      (2)    Report any and all incidences / issues to the Aquatics Supervisor.
      (3)    Supervise lifeguard staff when Aquatics Supervisor is not in facility.
      (4)    Assist Aquatics Supervisor in answering questions and complaints of members and dealing with housekeeping responsibilities in pool area.
      (5)    Ensure that each shift conducts water testing to ensure chemical balance is within prescribed ranges.
      (6)    Communicate with Aquatics Supervisor to make recommendations for improvements in pool area to make it safer and more enjoyable for members and guests.
      (7)    Any other duties as assigned by Aquatics Supervisor, Recreation Director and Administrative Staff.
    (d)   Hourly Compensation Range for the Head Lifeguard:
                          Minimum Wage - $18.00 / hour
