(a) Part-time City Inspectors shall be appointed by the Mayor for a period of one year, subject to confirmation of Council, for the purpose of conducting plumbing, heating, electrical and for structural inspections, and shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. The part-time City Inspectors shall receive twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per inspection for residential inspections. The part-time City Inspectors shall obtain, at his or her own expense, an automobile insurance policy containing a liability insurance provision with limited coverage of not less than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) and three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) property damage insurance, the City to be co-insured by endorsement in such policy together with the City Inspectors.

(b) The part-time Inspectors shall be primarily responsible for the inspection of residential plumbing, electrical, heating and structural buildings and appurtenances, including the construction thereof, the inspection of sidewalks and other improvements in the right of way, the inspection of single-family dwellings, two-family dwellings and multiple dwellings and such other residential inspections as directed by the Building Commissioner. The part-time Inspectors shall report the results of all inspections to the Commissioner on a weekly basis. (Ord. 7-1995. Passed 2-27-95.)
