Pursuant to Article V §8(d) of the Charter of the City, Council shall have the power to approve, amend, modify or reverse any decision of the Board of Zoning Appeals if Council finds that the decision of the Board is contrary to the purpose and intent of the zoning ordinances. Such review by Council shall be made within ninety days following the date of the decision or finding of the Board with respect to any matter upon which the Board has taken official action. A majority vote of the members of Council is necessary to approve, amend, modify or reverse any decision of the Board.
