707.11 DUTIES OF PRIVATE OWNERS.
   It shall be the duty of any person growing a tree/s on property abutting public places supporting trees or plants to:
   (a)   Trim his tree/s so as not to cause a hazard to public places or interfere with the proper lighting of public places by the street lights, and so that the minimum clearance of any overhanging portion thereof shall be nine feet over footways and thirteen feet over vehicular ways. If the owner of the private property does not trim his tree/s, then the City's Arborist shall assess the matter and follow the guidelines as set forth in this Chapter.
   (b)   Treat or remove any tree or plant so diseased or insect-ridden as to constitute a hazard to trees or plants in public places, unless having first obtained written permission from the City Arborist to do so.
   (c)   Remove and refrain from planting any of the species mentioned in Section 707.06. (Ord. 30-2017. Passed 6-26-17.)
