5-1-1: DEFINITIONS:
When used in this chapter, the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them:
ANIMAL: Any mammal, domestic or wild other than man.
ANIMAL NUISANCE: Is created when an animal:
   A.   Runs uncontrolled;
   B.   Molests or disturbs persons or vehicles by chasing, barking or biting;
   C.   Attacks other animals;
   D.   Damages property other than that of the owner or harborer;
   E.   Barks, whines, howls, honks, brays, cries or makes other noises excessively;
   F.   Creates noxious or offensive odors;
   G.   Defecates upon any public place or upon premises not owned or controlled by the owner or harborer unless properly removed by the owner or harborer; or
   H.   Creates an insect breeding and/or attraction site due to an accumulation of excreta.
CAT: Includes any animal (Felis catus), male and female of the Felidae family.
DOG: Includes any animal, male and female, of the canine species.
DOMESTICATED ANIMAL: Includes dogs, cats, domesticated sheep, horses, cattle, goats, swine, fowl, ducks, geese, turkeys, confined domestic hares and rabbits, pheasants and other birds and animals raised and/or maintained in confinement.
HARBORER: Any person who provides food and shelter for any domesticated animal on other than a periodic or temporary basis.
OWNER: Any person having right of property in any animal; who keeps an animal; who has an animal in his care or custody; or who knowingly permits an animal to remain on or about any premises occupied by him.
PERSON: Any individual, firm, corporation, partnership, association, trust, estate or other legal entity.
WILD ANIMAL: That which is not of a species customarily used as an ordinary household pet, but one which would ordinarily be confined to a zoo, or one which would ordinarily be found in the wilderness of this or any other country, or one which otherwise causes a reasonable person to be fearful of bodily harm, or property damage. Fish in an aquarium are not included in this definition. (Ord. 86-15, 11-18-1986)
