3-1-8: PAYMENT AND DISPOSITION OF FEES; REFUNDS:
   A.   Payment Of Fees; Proration: In the absence of provision to the contrary, all fees and charges for licenses and permits shall be paid in advance at the time application therefor is made to the village clerk in the amounts prescribed in the schedule set forth in section 3-1-7 of this chapter or elsewhere in this code. When an applicant has not engaged in the business or activity until after the expiration of part of the current license year, the license fee shall be prorated semiannually and the fee paid for each half year or fraction thereof during which the business or activity has been or will be conducted.
   B.   Disposition Of Fees: Except as otherwise provided, all license and permit fees shall become a part of the general fund. (Ord. 03-04, 3-18-2003)
   C.   Refunds And Rebates: In no event shall any rebate or refund be made of any license or permit fee, or part thereof, by reason of death or departure of the licensee or permittee, nor shall any rebate or refund be made by reason of nonuse of the license or discontinuance of the operation or conduct of the licensed establishment, business or activity in the last six (6) months of the license. In the first six (6) months, the council may issue a refund when the licensee shuts down the business, or otherwise voluntarily relinquishes his or her license, except when the licensee's license is terminated because of revocation or suspension by the village or any other governmental authority. Said refund will be pro rata on a monthly basis beginning the first month after termination of the license. (Ord. 03-14, 6-3-2003)
