§ 22-6-23 MARKINGS AND DESIGNATIONS; BY PRIVATE PERSONS; PROHIBITED.
   The marking or designating of portions of streets or alleys where the parking of vehicles is prohibited or limited shall be done only by the city through its proper officers, and no person, firm, or corporation shall so mark or designate, by painting the curb or otherwise, any portion of any street or alley, or in any other manner set aside, or attempt to prevent the parking of vehicles in any portion of any street or alley, except at places where the parking of vehicles is prohibited by ordinance.
