§ 22-4-1 OPERATOR’S LICENSE; REQUIRED.
   No person shall operate any motor vehicle upon any street within the city without first having obtained a motor vehicle operator’s license as provided by the laws of the state. The operator of such a motor vehicle shall at all times carry such license and shall present it for examination upon demand by any police officer. It shall also be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle upon any street in the city during the period that his or her operator’s license has been suspended or revoked. No owner or person in control of any motor vehicle shall permit such vehicle to be driven by any person who does not then have in force a motor vehicle driver’s license as provided by the laws of the state.
