§ 20-5-20 DRIVEWAYS; APRONS; OVER CURBS; CORNERS; PERMIT; BOND; SPECIFICATIONS.
   It hereby unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to construct or cause to be constructed in the city any driveway or apron over the curb or corner of the streets and avenues of the city without specific permission from the City Manager, or his or her designee. Before any such permit shall be issued, the applicant shall furnish good and sufficient bond in the sum of 1,000), to be approved by the City Clerk, to secure the city against any damages that may arise from or accident that may be incident to the construction of such driveway or apron. The City Manager shall have discretionary power to issue or refuse a permit for such driveway or apron structure, and may require, in lieu of such construction, the construction of an open driveway of such shape and nature as shall seem to the City Manager to be safe and proper.
