Each number referred to in this article shall be displayed in a conspicuous place upon the residence, storeroom, or other building to which the number has been assigned, or upon the curb in front of the premises, in figures not less than two and one-half inches high and in accordance with other standard specifications prescribed by the City Manager or the designee of the City Manager. It shall be the duty of the owner and the occupant of every residence, storeroom, or other building to which a number has been assigned as provided in this article to display such number in the manner provided in this section, and it shall be unlawful for any person to number any building except in strict compliance with the provisions of § 20-1-11 of this article.
