§ 23-4-19 SAME; EXISTING BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICES.
   Existing backflow prevention devices approved by the City Manager prior to the effective date of this rule and which are properly installed and maintained shall, except for inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements, be excluded from the requirements of this article but only if the City Manager determines that the devices will satisfactorily protect the public water supply system. One hundred percent closing shutoff ball valves or resilient seat gate valves for testing shall be provided on existing backflow prevention devices, if deemed necessary for proper testing by the City Manager. If the City Manager determines that an existing backflow prevention device requires replacement, it shall be replaced with an approved backflow prevention device.
