Any permit issued pursuant to § 22-6-49 of this article shall be displayed in the applicable vehicle so as to be readily readable outside the vehicle at all times during which the vehicle is parked in a space or location to which the permit applies. If not so displayed at a time when the parking would constitute a violation of § 22-6-43 of this subchapter in absence of a permit issued pursuant to § 22-6-44 of this article, it shall not be a defense to a citation for such a violation that such a permit in fact had been issued.
