All candidates for election to the offices of Mayor, Board of Commissioners and/or any and all candidates for any elective office in the Town of Scotland Neck shall duly file, under their respective hands, a notice of their respective candidacy, and for what office, with the Town Clerk, or Clerk to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the Town of Scotland Neck not later than twelve o’clock noon
on the fourth Saturday prior to the election on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May of each election year. A filing fee of two dollars shall be paid by such candidate.
